Young the Giant @ The Wiltern

Once again, we were soooooo lucky enough to get all access to Young the Giant at the Wiltern this weekend. The tickets were a part of my Christmas gift but Greg hooked us up again with the passes.

The show was amaze and sounded phenomenal as usual. The guys were cool and we even got to enjoy a tour of their tour bus! We met this cool guy Zack (bummed I didn't get a picture with him) who is the lighting guy for Foster the People (next backstage pass hook up? wink wink) and he was cool. I enjoyed meeting him and hearing him and Steve (YTG sound guy) talk about the technical aspect of the shows. I could listen to them all night because it blows my mind that this is their careers. Sooooo cool to me!!!

But I HAVE to tell you about the groupie I saw IN ACTION. 

Yea, so, Samir is this super sweet, very intelligent guy (he was attending Stanford before he decided to quit to give his music career his full time) and has a beautiful girl friend (she sadly wasn't there because shes backpacking New Zealand or something). 

After the show, there is this total floozy sniffing around the dressing rooms and I already had her pegged for a groupie because I noticed she really didn't know anyone there and was standing off just talking to her wing woman the whole time. I see her eventually causally talk to Samir and then we head outside and are chillin standing in the alleyway by the bus. While we are outside, she comes out with Samir and of course I am checking this out hardcore to scope the situation when out of nowhere she THROWS HERSELF onto him!! My first thought was, "Oh no did she fall?" No. She pushed him and tried to get him against the wall to kiss him! He put his hands up like, "No no" and stepped back and gave her this pathetic look. It was a strange look, almost like he felt bad (I don't know why, she wasn't cute at all). Maybe it was a look of partial embarrassment? I don't know it was strange and had kind of a blushing sadness to it.

She nodded and walked off and met her wing woman at the end of the alley and they laughed nervously. One of Eric's buddies came up and talked about it and confirmed the situation.

I just can't believe she threw herself on him. I guess that's one way to tell a guy whats up. haha. 

Groupies these days. Sheesh. I can't fathom how you can just have one M.O. to get in bed with a lead singer. I mean, he's cute and all, but, wow. It was crazy to watch go down.
