Sometimes you gotta go on a mission for a cheeseburger

I've been homesick lately. Yea, I know, it's rare.
I need to see the fall colors changing, my brother, my baby, my mom, and share some laughter and maybe some drinks. I need the familiarity of home. I guess it has been awhile, since August, since I've been home.
Anyway, I woke up from our nap in the park yesterday and was like, "Dude, I need some Freaking-Foster's-Freeze!" Something about that burger was reminding me of Atwater and this one semester me and my hommie Matt went to Foster Freeze every Tuesday. I needed it. I needed something familiar, some sort of comfort food. Geeze, that is such an obese American thing to say.
So, I google it and find out there is one in Cypress on our way to church. Score!
No.
It closed recently.
After panicking and totally freaking out, I google it again and find there is one in Buena Park. So, I drive an additional 7 miles, near Knott's Berry Farms, to find it.
The sign is completely bleached from the sun and the only way we knew what it was because the outline of the little Foster man.
We drive up to an almost completely dirt lot and Sean says, "Well, luckily you had this craving now because a few months from now, I doubt this place will even exist." It was true. This place was a dump. I didn't care. My mouth was already watering for that burger, crinkle fries, and chocolate shake.
I got a #2 Old Fashioned Cheeseburger and let me tell you, it hit the spot and was THE ONE!
Me smilin cause I got my cheeseburger.
Sean getting down on his cheeseburger. Check out the old, scratched up sign behind him.
So, I drove about 15 miles just for a burger. Its all good though cause it made me happy and I enjoyed stuffing my face with it and telling Sean Foster Freeze memories. It was what I needed.
I don't know, sometimes you just gotta go on a mish' for a burger.
