Halloween 2011

Happy Halloween!!
Halloween always stresses me out. Mostly, due to my procrastination and last minute costume creations/changes and this year was no different. I decided to be the Black Swan after thumbing through multiple adult costume websites and contemplating how to take the "whore" out of how "whoreable" they were. Why do grown women feel the need to dress like hookers on Halloween? This always frustrates me. Black Swan seemed easy enough. A dark, mysterious ballerina, with lots of black eye makeup and excuse to wear a tutu. I was sold.
I acquired most of my costume from ebay.com/Amazon.com and found a black tutu/tiara combo so I didn't end up making the tutu like I originally thought (because a more modest length tutu is hard to find). Everything arrived on time and a week before the splendid event but of course the day of, I was at Joann's scrambling for a hot glue gun and feathers to add to the plain leotard.
I learned two very important lesson while adding the feathers. 1.) If you hot glue leotard trim, make sure it is stretched out the size you will need it to be, otherwise, you will have this super small leotard that was hot glued while laying on the table, and not on your fat ass and you wont be able to squeeze into it. 2.) Don't get a manicure and then hot glue feathers. My manicure wasn't ruined but the leotard was. I had to rip half of the feathers off, get into it, and then have Sean glue more feathers on while I was wearing it. Haha! Stupid!
After the crisis was averted, I finished up the makeup and was pretty happy with the final product.

Sean was the Duff Man or something from the Simpsons. I don't watch the show so I have no idea.

I had two parties, Sean's and Sheets with the church fam. I had to make both happen. I could never choose. Luckily both were going on in Huntington Beach so I was just a few miles away. I made a collage of all of the costumes from both parties because every one did such an amazing job and I don't want to post all 25 of them one by one. Here they are:

Everyone had a great time at both parties. The night went by fast. A couple of my favorite moments was when Stefan decided to paint Darren's face to make it black and red like the Counts mouth with a permanent marker! Check out the pictures.

 Brother helping brother
Yea! It actually came out really good!
"Your forgot his nose!" haha!
I also love these pictures of Rosco...

And these of me and Sean. We have fun together and you can see it so clearly in these pictures. Love! <3

We are so ridiculously cute its annoying. ;-) Shortly after, we went into the garage and Sean's nephews, who are really talented musicians, broke out in a jam session. It was the perfect Halloween music. Reminiscent of Portishead? Organs are so amazingly creepy.

Next year, I promise to start my costume earlier and youtube videos on how to hot glue feathers to a leotard. haha.
