I don't normally blog about dates (mostly because they usually suck and it is nothing to write about or remember) but, as you can tell, I have been mentioning my new buddy Sean in previous blogs. We’ve been on two dates already and I get the feeling we will be seeing much more of each other in the near future. We already have plans to go to a concert next month (Band of Horses) so I thought I would take the time to blog about how we met and how much fun it has been so far getting to know each other.
As I said, we met at Colette’s birthday party at Sgt. Peppers Dueling Pianos, when a buddy of his brother in law’s had toilet paper on his shoe. We talked about this last night, and Sean never knew the real story on how I started talking to them. We both think God is so funny like that. He must’ve been getting a real kick out of putting toilet paper on someone’s shoe to bring two strangers together! Seriously. So, at first Sean was like, “Who is this hot chick and why is she talking to the married guys!? What the heck?” but I only talked to them for a few minutes in polite conversation before I saw him standing next to them and was like, “Oh hello, who are you?” haha. SWOOOP! We both wish we could recall more detail about that night but after a few drinks and a lot of interruptions, we only remember little bits and pieces. Turns out though, I met most of his family that night and even missed meeting is dad by a few minutes, and they all thought I was rad. Haha. Oh geeze, I’m so glad I didn’t meet his dad. Haha!! This is a better picture one of his family members took of us that night. The guy in the back is Bill the toilet paper victim. He's already claiming royalties on us. haha.
For the first date, we went to my favorite yogurt spot and then wandered around Barnes and Noble for the evening. Barnes and Noble is not only my favorite place to wander, but also an awesome place to get to know someone. All of the different subjects surrounding you makes it impossible not to talk about a lot of different things and get to know each other. We found out some awesome and random things we have in common like; 1. We both know the entire movie Labyrinth by heart, 2. We love photography 3. We love all the same music. Down to Lykke Li, Band of Horses, Mumford, Coheed…all of it! 4. We love creepy, old, crusty cemeteries, 5. Cults and unique religious practices intrigue us, 6. We love art, street art, art museums, etc. Just to name a handful.
On our second date last night, we went down to Dukes (http://www.dukeshuntington.com/) on the sand by the Huntington Beach pier. Neither of us had been there so it was nice to try something new. Who orders a full rack of Mango BBQ Ribs on a first dinner date?? THIS GAL! LOL! Freaking hilarious. I didn’t give a flyin flippin fudge, I wanted to try those stinkin mango ribs and let me tell you, they were BOMB! Sean had fish. Haha.
We happened upon into a bunch of older people playing ukuleles! So fun! Here is a video of it and a picture of us by the pier. It was cute.

He is so sweet to me and he has a really kind heart. He’s not shy but a deep thinker. He wears flannel pearl button shirts and has the prettiest blue eyes. His smile is contagious and he makes me blush. He feels totally on my level, and that’s what I’ve been missing. But the best part….
is that he likes me too!
