Christmas Ridiculousness 2011

Merry Christmas!! Let the fun and celebration of our saviors birth begin! I have been really enjoying Christmas this year. It helps that I have my sweetheart to join in the festivities with and it feels good to have someone to go to parties with and decorate for. I even decided to get my first real tree. I almost did last year but I just couldn't commit. This weekend I finally decided to get a tree. He is soooooo cute. He fits so perfect in my little home and we knew when we saw him that he was ours.

I named my tree Sam (we just read about Hannah and Sam in the bible so that name was fresh in my mind and one of my all time favorites). Of course I have to put human emotion and needs on inanimate objects. Its just what I do.
Sunday night after Halogen we came home to decorate. It was kind of a lot of work...even for a little 4 ft tree. Ugh. Finding a tree stand almost drove Sean nuts and getting the lights right was making me a little nuts too but we really enjoy the finished product. Isn't he soooooo cute!?

Me and the babies in our house.
This is all I've done in years past. I like putting them on a timer and coming home to them shinning. Also, the picture below of the glowing present was a gift from Andrew and Erika and it is on a timer too. It is my favorite thing to come home to.

This is my most precious Christmas decoration and tradition because it was my Oma's. Not only do I remember enjoying this as a child at her house, but the fact that his was the exact same one she had means so much to me. I will look forward to passing the tradition along to my children and also enjoying it every year and remembering her. I am glad I thought to pick this up after she passed away. It will always be treasured. Also, it turns out they are super, super expensive, and hand carved and painted and I probably would not have bought one on my own.

After we decorated....

Then, things got really ridiculously fun. Jelena had an ugly sweater party last week. After going to Wal-Mart (and causing quite a scene with at least 4 Wal-Mart employee's assisting with the decision making process), we decided to wear matching wreath printed turtle necks. Awesome.
Now, if you have had any doubt up until this point that Sean was totally made for me, this should change your mind quite a bit. Anyone equally down with taking a family portrait with the dogs, looking super cheesy, and getting a great laugh out of it has to be mine. I laugh out loud when I look at these and hope you guys enjoyed receiving copies in the mail and laugh as it graces your refrigerators.

Christmas card picture and the runners up.....

After we snapped our family portrait we headed out to Jelena's party. It was a great time!

Oh yea, and then Jelena brought out some matching Santa hats and it got even more cheesy.
Another matching couple...yay!
Little Ivana woke up from a late afternoon nap and she even had a cute sweater on. She is already 6 months and sooo freaking adorable. I can tell she already loves her Auntie Amy.

Haha this picture of Jelena is hilarious!
I seriously wasn't mad...just giving a "look" messing around.
Uh OH! How did this get in here? Someone gave me the penis shot glass and I just had to be raunchy with it. haha it was fun.

It has been a successful kick off to Jesus's birthday and me and Sean's first Christmas together. I look forward to the many other parties, celebrations, and fun with friends and family to come.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS!
