Yesterday, I had the opportunity to meet Sean's family at his moms birthday dinner. Isn't it funny that her birthday is 2 days before mine and we are both Libras and Sean's birthday is about 2 weeks away from my dad's and they are both Pisces? So crazy.
We met up at a nice little spot in Tustin called the Marmalade Cafe. His sister Kerry Lynn joined us but her husband Stephen (who I met and hung out with quite a bit the night Sean and I met) wasn't able to join. Kerry Lynn is about 5 months older than me, super cute and sweet, and about to have her first baby girl Mackenzie in November. I could tell right away that I am going to get along great with her. She's adorable.
His mom and dad were very sweet and genuinely happy to meet me. He is just like his dad, I immediately liked him. It's so funny that they are so similar. His mom is a bit more reserved, and a deep thinker, while his dad is outgoing and funny. Sean had already forewarned me that he frequently cannot resist an occasional, "That's what she said" joke. Awesome, especially since I have to restrain from that one all the time.
Since our relationship has started like one giant romantic comedy, I was ready for something to catch on fire, someone to spill a drink, or someone get hit in the eye by a random volleyball spike, but thankfully, none of the sorts occurred. haha!
It is so interesting to meet the parents because you really find out why they are the way they are. I'm sure that when Sean met my mom a lot fell into place, like, why I'm so gorgeous and amazing. haha ;-)
I liked them a lot and look forward to getting to know them more. Especially his sister. I think I'm gonna make her my newest BFF. ;-) heehee.
