Company meetings and farewells

Today was a pretty intense day at the office. We had our annual company meeting held at Spagatini's. It is always refreshing to review our goals and aspirations as a company. I wasn't really feeling it this year like I usually do. I enjoyed my bosses presentation, and I learned a lot, but my mind was wandering all over the place. Looking at the decorations, thinking about my hair, trying not to laugh at Brooks blowing his nose which sounded like a horn, and trying to remember to look interested in the PowerPoint presentation. They were reviewing some capital gain bullshit when I thought, 'this would be really great if this PowerPoint was teaching me how to layer in Adobe Photoshop.' Uh oh. Focus. I also felt it was really hard to not reach for my iPhone and read Facebook for an entire 2.5 hours. I did scan emails once though.
Peila and I had great conversation with this guy Harrison (I think he's a VP of bio-methane) at our table. The food and conversation made up for the lengthy ridiculous PowerPoint slides.
We got back to the office and received some devastating news that one of our counterpoints and our trucking company resigned leaving us in very unstable and incapable hands. This news rocked Peila and I because we work so closely with those guys. Our stomachs were in knots all afternoon and we couldn't really focus on anything else. It leaves a lot of questions and concerns. Crazy.
On a more lighter note we had a spectacular farewell this afternoon as our IT department permanently relocated to another wing of our suite. Now my ex and Herman munster and their awesome manager, can all drive each other nuts in another area of the office and out of our faces for good.
Definitely, not a typical day at the office.
