Our first attempt at Oktoberfest in Alpine Village (Torrence, CA) was a total BUST! It was a few weekends ago and it was HORRIBLE. It was Me, Julian, Collette and Sheets.
First, we got lost...No, first we almost hit a lady in a crosswalk. One of those situations where you pull up to make a right in a turn lane and you couldn't see the pedestrian because a huge truck was in your view of the crosswalk. Anyway, crisis avoided but getting lost took us an extra 30-40 minutes.
Second, parking was a disaster.
Third, we finally arrive to walk up to a line of about 200-300 people (we couldn't really tell) and wait, and wait, and wait, and before we know it, it's 11:00pm and we have been waiting in line for 2 hours!!! Seriously. Come to find out there is a special entrance for prepaid internet tickets so we decide to come back in a few weekends and go that route, until then we decide to head to BJ's for Oktoberfest Ale they brew.
Fourth, BJ's is OUT OF OKTOBERFEST ALE!
Fifth, I'm not feeling too well. I decide to go with Sprite in hopes that that will help my tummy. No luck, I puke in the bathroom of BJs after suffering with extreme nausea while everyone eats around me making it so much worse.
Sixth, I make it home and dont puke in anyones car but my friend Colette totally bashed her brand new Honda Accord while pulling into a tight compact spot at her parking garage. Alllll bad. Her whole passenger side door needs to be replaced.
Seventh, I am up alllll night and allll the next morning puking my guts out with a horrible flu (fever too). I thought I might die but I DIDN'T!
Current story:
We head back, take 2. This time it can't get worse and it doesn't! We have tickets, sail in, eat, drink and be merry.
The worst our night got was watching this hideous fat chick flash her nasties all over the stage while Colette and I were trying to do the chicken dance. Ew. But it was still fun doing the chicken dance on stage in front of thousands of people. I was all over the jumbo-tron thing. Super awesome. I live for that.
It was a lot less traditional German than the Alpine Village one my mom and I went to. Honestly, it was a lot of Non-Germans wanting an excuse to consume way too much beer and do the chicken dance over and over. It was fun cause my friends are awesome. I would stick with the Old World Village in Huntington for the tradition and safer atmosphere.
Here are some pics and even a video.

FAVORITE! Spaten Oktoberfest Lager. 34 ounces...yes, that is 1 liter. Yes, I drank it all...
A dude on a table! awesome.
Round 2...light Spaten this time. This is what I chugged at the chugging contest in HB. Soooo good. Yes, I finished that liter too!
