Traffic control, this is Houston

I leave my house 35 minutes before work starts and my commute is exactly 7 miles. I have a handful of routes that will get me to work and depending on google traffic, I choose a different path daily.
The highway was a disaster this morning because there were 3 accidents some including fatalities within miles from my work. Very sad. I choose to go through the naval base. Speed limit is 60 and it flows better than the highway...WRONG!
Stopped.
Parking lot lanes.
No other route.
Going to be late!
Pissed.
In my free time as I waited and watched two stoplights completely out of sync and screwing up my whole commute I google voice search "Westminster Traffic Contol" and get the number of a traffic engineer.
"Hi. My name is Amy and I was just wondering why I am stopped behind a half mile line of cars all waiting for two lights that are out of synchronization and screwing up my whole commute? My call can be returned at..."
Feeling like a smart ass I get to work 8:06am and wonder when my call might arrive.
I go to lunch and forget the whole situation.
4:15pm my phone rings. Traffic engineer? Bingo.
Turns out all of the stoplights in Westminster have been screwed up, something about Little Saigon New Year, and the upgrade should happen in the next few weeks.
He also goes on to inform me about upcoming road work that will directly affect my commute and other construction plans. He spent 15 minutes explaining it to me and confirming that the St James light was wacky last week too! He even offered a follow up call after the upgrade to see if I notice a difference.
Wow!
Who woulda thought?
Awesome traffic engineer guy, you rock. I will no longer curse you when the lights are out of sync cause I know, you're on it.
