I’ve been lucky enough over the past 8 years I have lived on my own that I haven’t had to deal with any bug infestations in my house. I have overcome flea outbreaks, the occasional spider, and even dying rats in my walls, but nothing could prepare me for the weevil. Evil little critters that live in your cupboards and harvest on rice, wheat, and flour. Last night I found weevils were everywhere.
Boxes seem to be their favorite hiding place. I had to take every single stinking item out of my cupboard, analyze it, washhhh-it, and put it on the kitchen table so I could pine sol the cupboard. After googling it I was glad to see they are just pesky critters that are pretty common and harmless but I have NEVER been so grossed out as I was to see little mites crawling in my precious cereal box (unopened thank goodness).
Lesson learned. I will now get an airtight can for my rice. Evil Weevils.

they are naturally occurring in flour as well. same things that eat the pads on a clarinet or flute too!
gross right! You can put every dry good you purchase in the *freezer* over night, straight from the store to kill what comes home w/ you from the start---yep--they come home WITH you from the store!!!
I just had to go through (& toss) a bunch of food because of a moth infestation! GROSS!!!
Ewwww, Yes! My mother has changed to Tupperware cereal boxes for years now. Those evil weevils are going down!
