Winter in Paradise

Winter is usually hard for me. I am easily depressed and I hate the rain (so does Pnut) but winter in Southern California is slowly becoming my new favorite season. The above picture is the view of the San Gabriel Mountains from the Huntington Harbor. The Huntington Harbor is less than a mile from my house and this is the view I see everyday going to and from work. Yesterday on my way home, the clouds were breaking up from the recent storm and the view of the mountains took my breath away. I look one way and I see the ocean with the sun setting behind it, and I look the other way to see the mountains glowing yellow-orange with the light from the setting sun. I love it. It might rain a couple days off and on, but the hours and days after a rain are the prettiest days of the year. You can see for miles, the air is crisp, birds are frolicking and eating worms, the mountains are covered in snow, and it rarely gets below 50 degrees. Paradise is even beautiful in the winter.

I love to hear happiness and content in your 'voice'! Makes my heart SOAR!! Also, kind of ironic... sometimes we have to persevere through the rain, in order to see all the beauty - just like in life - we have to go through the rough times to appreciate the good God has waiting for us.
