The worst thing that could possibly happen to me happened yesterday. Pnut and Daisy are fine, but I lost a contact lens down the drain. This is devastating for me. No one really understands the magnitude of the situation except other nerds out there (there aren’t many). I am forced to wear my glasses around or be blind. Luckily, a year ago I got a new pair of snazzy specs that aren’t as bad as the old mangled ones I had before. Anyhow, still totally sucks cause I have order a new one, pick it up, make an appointment, blah blah blah. I think insurance is going to cover a good chunk of it so hopefully I won’t be out too much money. I am not interested in Halloween or getting dressed up, and I am really worried about the Marathon Concerts next week. If I don’t have it in time, no mosh pit for the blind girl, which would totally stink! Grrrr. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed. Until then, I am rockin the nerd specs. I am bringing nerd back. I’ve been making nerds cool since 1982 I can handle this! Haha. No seriously, today wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be but dang it, I hate being dished a slice of humility pie…knocks you right back down to size.
