Happy 4th of July!

My first 4th of July in Long Beach was interesting. I am a sucker for fireworks shows and the City of Long Beach did not let me down. Every year they have a big show over the Queen Mary set off from a barge that was strategically placed out in the ocean directly in front of my apartment so I had front row seats and didn’t even have to leave the premises. It was a really good show! We watched it from the pool area on some comfy lounge chairs. People started packing in at 9am and the park I usually take the pups for their afternoon peepee was absolutely overflowing with people by mid-afternoon. Jason and I took our bikes and got the heck out of dodge for some lunch at Taco Surf in Belmont which wasn’t nearly as packed. It was a nice ride and beautiful day! Sunny, and I don’t think it got over 85 degrees. It was perfect. For the most part it was a pretty relaxing day. We got some ice cream, took a nap and hung out with the pups. They actually did surprisingly well with all the noise and commotion. Daisy had a harder time then Pnut which is strange because she is usually the tough one, or at least she pretends to be. I woke up this morning and Long Beach is TRASHED! Those damn inlanders came and brought all their garbage with them! The poor parks are disgusting. The beach is just as bad. This morning they had to bring in huge dump trucks to take it all away. It’s sad. Maybe next year the party should be at my house cause I have front row seats to an awesome fireworks show and after you get to watch the crowded streets from my living room and laugh at all the people stuck in traffic and hope that they run into each other cause they are all driving like drunk idiots while making awesome grilled cheese sandwiches at 1030pm. Haha. Seriously, hit me up next year for some fun in the sun on the beach!
