Saturday morning a bunch of us from Halogen all got together to help out our brother Eric. His backyard has been growing out of control for probably the last decade since his parents passed away and left him with the property. I showed up bright and early and got right to work. Here are the before pictures (taken by Megan):
The entry
It is seriously a jungle.
These succulents I made one of my tasks. I cleared out all of the weeds and it was actually a really happy, healthy succulent.
I had sooo much fun with this tree. As it turns out I LOVE pruning. Brent helped me with the tall branches and I trimmed it up symmetrically, got rid of the dead branches, and made it happy again.
This is the shrub that I took a liking to. Look how good that looks!
Everyone was putting in serious work.
A lot of people came out. There was at least 20 of us total. Super success.
The dump truck filled up fast.
It cleaned up pretty well don't you think?
I was there from 9:30am - 2pm and I think everyone wrapped up the day around 430-5pm. I really enjoyed the day, getting dirty, working in nature with the trees and bushes and making them happy and healthy again felt so good. It was super therapeutic but it also worked a number on my rotator cuff and back. Ugh.
I came home, was a complete disgusting mess, and spent the rest of the day by the pool and had everyone over for a pool, pizza and Jacuzzi party. It was a good Saturday.
