Where the Aldo's meet the pavement.

Last week I took a pretty good spill down the stairs outside my house. My beloved 5-6 inch stilettos and my perpetual habit of running 5 minutes late headed to work met an unwelcome collision as I sledded down the last 2-3 steps before entering the parking garage. Instead of a toboggan I slid on my precious $90 real leather black peep toe Aldo's, the most expensive shoes I own. I'm not blaming the shoes, I'm pretty sure the 3 bags I was hauling and the fact that I missed a step was to blame. I questioned before I left the house if I should choose my beautiful Aldo's or my more inexpensive Delicious black buckle peep toes and went with the Aldo's, a mistake I would soon regret as I checked the damage immediately before attempting to drive to work. A complete chunk was taken out of the heel and some real good scuff marks all down the back in the leather. Bummed, I could hardly shift the car to put pressure on my left ankle but some how managed to get to work. I iced, elevated, and almost overdosed on ibuprofen. I didn't have serious swelling or bruising but my range of motion was shot for a good week. I am now almost back to normal...the Aldo's however are going to require $35 bucks in cosmetic repairs and are still at the cobbler. Awh well, coulda been much worse. Maybe I'll start wearing flats to and from the house to the car....ehhhhh second thought, naaahhhh.
