Patellofemoral Pain


I hurt my knee. I have Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome AKA Runners Knee. My patella doesn't track properly (a problem I have had my whole life) and after increasing to 6 miles on Sunday, Monday morning I was grimacing walking down the 5 stairs to my parking garage. The picture above is me and my pouty face at work while icing my knee. I found some office supplies to adhere the icepack to my knee (a phone cord, it worked really well!) and I've been taking ibuprofen. After an hour massage today and icing it feels a lot better but not 100%. I bought a brace today for the half marathon on Sunday. I think it will make a big difference. I read a lot of good things about it and it is specifically for runners knee. I think I will be cool. I want to do this run more than anything other than my stupid knee I feel fine! Other muscles are barely sore. I have to get better so I can do this. Sucks.
