Hell-th

I've got some good news and some bad news about my heath.
Good news first! As you may remember in January I set a weight loss goal that I wanted to obtain by July. Today is July 1st and I hopped on the scale and much to my surprise, the little LCD screen read exactly what I wanted my goal to be. By counting calories and running, I have lost close to 9 pounds in 6 months. The muffin top is not completely gone, but I am feeling fit and tone again.
The bad news is that I have been really sick for the past 2-3 days and I am still not 100%. I have felt tightness in my chest for 2 weeks and it finally hit the surface with fever and painful cough after a measly 2 mile run on Sunday. I had x-rays on Monday to make sure nothing has developed in my lungs and I am on antibiotics. I haven't heard the results of the x-rays but I am pretty sure it is just a nasty cold that my body has to kick. The real bummer is that I am not sure I will be able to run the S.F. half marathon as planned at the end of the month. We'll see how the next few weeks go and if I am able to continue training (I've been out of it for almost 3 weeks). I will be extremely disappointed if I am not able to run it. I just ran my best 10k a little over a month ago and I have been so dedicated. I know my health needs to come first. Please continue to pray that I am better soon.
I have struggled with my health this year already and I don't know what the deal is. The only thing I can blame it on is lack of sleep. Too much fun and not enough sleep makes me super sick.
I went back to work today and worked 10.5 hours. I know, right!?! So much to do after only taking 2 days off. I'm not joking, the place almost fell apart without me. Seriously. It was an issue. Ohhhh well...that's a whole other blog in itself.
Well, I'm off to go relax on the couch and look forward to my NyQuil.
