Keep rockin the lifestyle changes

We are now 22 days into March and I continue my commitment to my lifestyle changes I made on or around the first of the year. It was going so good, I decided to add another to the list. On Wednesday Jelena and I made a bet with Shaunt that we could get to work at 7:50am. He laughed because he knows no matter how hard we try, we cannot get to work before 8:05am. Its not like we are horribly late, I mean, its never more than 2-5 minutes! My boss has heckled me for the past year and some days I am early and then I start slipping into my same old 8:05 routine. Thursday and Friday, I was at the coffee pot (our meeting spot) by 7:50am. I figure I did it 2 days in a row so it is humanly possible for me to get out of bed 15 minutes earlier. But dang it, its still dark when I get up! Most mornings the pups don't even get out of bed until I am out of the shower! haha LOL. I guess this is my career and I/we should start taking it to the next level. haha. So, I added 7:50am to my lifestyle change list.
Jelena, Craig and I ran 5.3 miles yesterday. Craig will also be running the 10K in Seal Beach on April 4th. Sadly, Jelena has to take one for the team and drive the Pace Car (a CNG Honda Civic of course). Clean Energy sponsors the Seal Beach 5/10k every year so since I am an employee I get to register for free. Super sweet.
Jelena (her beans) and I after 5.3 miles:

There are so many funny stories about her "beans". We were getting our new shoes fitted (those are our new shoes in the picture. We LOVE them!!!) and they had this bin full of Jelly Belly beans that are full of carbs, caffeine, and electrolytes. And I was like, "Oh I bet these beans are good!" and later Jelena was like, "I think I'm going to get those beans....I gotta have those beans" haha it was funny. It became our inside joke.
I am really proud of her. She's never ran that far in her life and it is so awesome to see her enjoy it and accomplish something she never thought she could do. To inspire someone and lead them to a lifestyle change of fitness has been very rewarding for me. We're gonna keep rockin it in 2009 and be bangin hot by summer...just you wait and see ;-)
