What is your New Year’s resolution? I don’t usually do resolutions. I am pretty content with my life 99% of the time and for the 1% I am not, I’ll just change it whenever it bothers me. I have seen a huge progress in my cooking over the past year and I try to eat well. I have gained and strengthened a lot of friendships over the last year and have made them a priority. I have also continued to attend Halogen regularly. I have NOT however stayed in shape over the past few months and so I am shifting my focus on my physical goals, all the while, not letting my other priorities slide. But it’s not a resolution, just a shift. Resolutions are easily broken, but lifestyle changes are much more permanent.
Today, I went for my first run in…maybe…3 months. My foot still isn’t fixed (my reason for not running in a looong time) but it didn’t bother me much during but it did a little after the run. I only went 1.8 miles and my average minute mile was 11, which is TERRIBLE! But, whatever, you have to start somewhere. The first thing I noticed as soon as I set out was all the jiggling. I jiggled and joggled all over the place! Things that should not move were definitely moving! It was terrible. My throat started hurting and the ache in my calves started up on .70 of a mile. Ugh. I have a long way to go. Hopefully, I will be back up to 3-4 miles on average soon. I hate starting out. It sucks.
Soooo, why don’t you do it with me? If you aren’t able to join me in the evenings, why not do it yourself? We can jiggle joggle while we jog together, that way by summer, we can be firm and fit, running in bikini’s on the beach.

You can start a mapmyrun too and we can track together. Whatda say? Screw resolutions and let’s change our lifestyle.

Very good - i like the 'lifestyle change'!! Much agreed! At least you STARTED on your physical goals - step 1 is always the most difficult! Still wanna do the 1/2 marathon in SF?
Probably. I think it would be a good midsummer goal. I'm feeling noncommittal though...big surprise. :-P
GO Amy! GO! You run & I'll joggle! ;-) Wanna do the Disney Half Marathon w/ me? It's not till Sept. 09....it would be fun & you get a really cool Disney medal....
