Methane (Natural Gas) bubbling out

The excavation site where they have excavated 12 feet of tar and found over 100 tons of fossils. Some dating back over 30,000 years.

They have some replicas of what the animals would have looked like, but most are just the skeletal remains they excavated out of the tar.

A Bison

A Mammoth!

Wish it wasn't blurry. I didn't have my tripod.

Of course I had to take a picture of this beautiful dragonfly.

The wall of Wolf skulls! Thats a lot of dead wolves!

Derek and I outside in the atrium by a waterfall. Eventhough it is blurry, I like this one the best because you can see the water movement.
After the museum we went into the gift shop which was one of the best gift shops I've ever been in. They had these handcrafted clay figurines of animals and Derek was immediately drawn to them. They are a one of a kind, amazing pieces of art. You can see them here: http://www.fimocreations.com/ they have a turtle figurine with dragonflies on its shell!! I was in love! Derek would not stop talking about them!
After getting lost (north of Wilshire Blvd) and stumbling upon million dollar homes and gawking at them, we went home and got some bomb Hawaiian BBQ take out and then watched The Other Boleyn Girl (which I would highly recommend). It was a day full of historical facts. Derek is so freaking fun to hang with. He makes me laugh still I cry or my stomach hurts. We really had a blast. If you are ever in So-Cal for a length of time the Tar Pits are a really cool thing to check out.

You liked that movie? I thought it was just *ok*. lol
I LOOOOOVE Natalie Portman so my opinion is a little bias. Plus, Anne Boleyn and the future Queen Elizabeth are two of my favorite woman in history. It was cool seeing it portrayed.
