My First SoCal Earthquake

I survived my first earthquake in Southern California on Tuesday the 29th. It was a 5.8 magnitude quake in Chino Hills and we felt it real good at work in Seal Beach. At first I thought it was someone running around upstairs and then realized it wasn’t stopping. My next thought was maybe someone did something to my building complex (I guess I have 9-11 to thank for that thought) and then I realized it was an earthquake right when the biggest bang hit. I was partially under my desk, looking over at my boss wide eyed, and asking what the heck we are supposed to do. No one knew what to do so we all sat and stared at each other awhile. It felt like it went on forever but it finally ended and we evacuated. I went home about 20 minutes later for lunch and the pups were alllllll upset. Pnut was barking at the mirror that fell off the dresser and then he ran into the kitchen to see if anything spilled. Haha. A couple books, magazines and things fell over but nothing broke. Poor little doggies were all alone in their first earthquake. I was soooo scared when it happened and then a few hours later I kind of wanted to feel it again. It was such a weird feeling to feel the earth move. The earth isn’t supposed to move like that!! Welcome to Southern California right?
