Unexpected Expenses

Since I relocated to Southern California a few unexpected expenses have surfaced that when preparing to move, I never took into consideration. Here they are:

Dog poop bags:
2 Dogs x 2 piles of poop x 2 poops a day = a whole heck of a lot of poop. I pick up poop all dang day! I actually get excited when they poop simultaneously; cause then I knock out both poops in one swoop. 100 poop bags are like $6.99. I started finding creative ways of cutting cost like, using produce bags from the grocery store or accidentally grabbing like 10 of them while shopping. Paying for poop bags stink. I don’t know why they can’t just mulch it into the grass…its like free fertilizer.

Nylons
In my humble opinion nylons went out when Regan left office (God rest his soul) but since our CEO worked with Regan while he was President, we are all forced to wear nylons EVERYDAY! Long gone are casual Fridays or Capri’s, now its full suits and nylons. I hate them and treat them terrible, thus I go through pairs on a weekly basis. I guess I’m not supposed to wash them in the washing machine either but, seriously, who has time to hand wash? Stupid $4.99 nylons.

Parking
Paying for parking is the worst part about living in So-Cal. I will go to serious extremes to get out of paying for parking. I will walk 8 blocks, take the bus because $2 round trip is better then paying $2 for parking, or I will ride my bike. Maybe that is why they make parking so dang expensive so we would all take the bus instead. Well, it worked.

Along with that goes…
Parking Tickets
I’ve been a lot better lately, but when I moved here I got like 3 parking tickets back to back. Most of them were street sweeping (signs that I never paid attention to until recently). The second was parking in front of a fire hydrant. I guess Merced City/County was nice enough to paint those red for us? Maybe it was a budget cut or something down here? I dunno. Parking Police need to get a life!

Toll Roads
You have to pay to drive on the freeway…are you serious!? Another thing I avoid at all costs.

Well, that’s all I got for now.

What is up with people buying poop bags? We just had this conversation with grandma last week! Are the bags biodegradable? Probably not. Everyone should just use toilet paper and a paper bag - if you need a bag at all! I can't believe everyone loading up the dumps with doggy poop in plastic bags!
Also, buy a small cloth zippered bag to use in the wash machine for your nylons. That way they don't get tangled up with the other clothes.
Parking tickets? fire hydrants? No advice on that :) but keep riding the bike - it's good for you and the environment!

Yes, my poop bags are biodegradable. I make sure I buy the bio ones. PetSmart carrys them. I gotta get one of those zip bags for the nylons. Thanks!

ok then - since you're using bio bags I won't say anything more about them :)
