Coheed and Cambira in Vegas

July 10th Jason and I drove to Vegas for a quick trip to see Coheed and Cambria and Killswitch Engage. We watched the temperature rise from 75 degrees at my house on the beach to 114 in Vegas in 3 ½ hours! It was so hot! The pups didn’t seem to mind it and they did really good as usual. I wasn’t feeling good at all and had been taking Airborne 2-3 times a day, gargling with salt water, and trying to get my rest since Friday. My body aches went away Monday but my throat was still really nasty. I think the dry heat helped too because my sore throat went away Tuesday night and hasn’t been back. Jason on the other hand is still struggling with back pain and is contemplating seeing a doctor if it persists. So, we went and tried our best to rock out and support the most amazing band in the whole world. The show was great! The venue (Pearl Theatre at the Palms) was beautiful! Wow. It is brand new, has great ventilation, amazing lights and big, clear screens to catch the close up action, yea my kind of place. Coheed performed first because the Killswitch crowd is a little bit rougher. I was glad the crowd was pretty mellow but the energy of the audience sucked. It felt like more of them were there to see Killswitch and weren’t really into Coheed. I was though! Sore throat didn’t stop me. Although I held back there are certain lines like, “And she screamed dear Claudiooo” and “Man your own jack hammer” I can’t let pass me by. They did the final cut extended jam session and Angry Dave came out and sang which was funny. Chris the new drummer was nails! I am sad Josh is gone but Chris did an amazing job. I could hear their new song a lot better this time and I really like it. I can’t wait for the new cd in a few months. Killswitch Engage is always entertaining. There are a handful of songs I like to hear and then we were pretty much donezo. So, we went to Vegas for about 12 hours, didn’t put a dime into a slot machine, didn’t drink one alcoholic beverage, didn’t go to a buffet or see any of the sites. Haha. Oh well. There is always next time (my cousins bachelorette party what what!?!). All that matters is that we saw Coheed, we loved it, and we still can’t wait until we see them again next month!

Amy can't go on a road trip without taking pictures of the pups in the car!

Jason driving his new car! A Chevy HHR. "its not a ford ford ford ford..its a chevy chevy chevy"

There they are...the greatest band in the whole world Coheed and Cambria (looks like we caught Mike in a vocal)

May I introduce the Man, the Myth, the Legend...Claudio Sanchez. Yes, during the Final Cut jam session he plays his guitar with a violin bow.

Me and Jason after the concert. I am holding a pair of pink and black Coheed shorts! Gotta love them!
